I’ve been talking with several moms lately about how fun the different stages of life are – we are moving solidly into the the “older kid” phase, and it seriously is so much fun! I didn’t realize that I would enjoy the older kid phase so much, but it’s really a blast. Grandma Day Camp has been this week (I’ll post more about it later – it’s always a hit!) and we made our own Camp Tees Layering Vinyl. I have a few tips for layering vinyl for you today!
That fun picture is from the start of Grandma Day Camp, morning of day 1 – nice and clean. Now contrast that with how the shirts come home at the end of the day – just signs that they’re having a good time!
I love laundry sticks, so I reached for the OxiClean Max Force™ Gel Stick. Directions for use:
Pre-treat tough clothing stains
1. Place Gel Stick directly onto the stain, press down to dispense gel and gently rub into fabric. (For the 1st use, multiple dabs may be needed.)
2. Let stand for 5 minutes or up to a week, depending on the severity of the stain.
3. Wash with detergent in the warmest water the garment will accept.
It had it’s job cut out for it!
But as you can see, it everything came out great! Clean and fresh and ready for another day of camp!
Max Force Foam: Test first in inconspicuous area prior to use. Can be used on all washable whites and colored fabrics (some colored fabrics may be prone to color change). For fabrics that are prone to color change, do not let stand for longer than 5 minutes. Treat now and wash later- up to 7 days before washing. Do not use on silk, wool, leather and fabrics labeled dry clean only.
1) Pump directly onto the spot or stain and rub gently into fabric
2) Let stand 5 minutes to up to a week depending on the severity of the stain.
3) Wash with detergent in the warmest water the fabric will accept. For best results: Treat stains with OxiClean Max Force™ Foam Laundry Stain Remover while they are fresh, or as soon as possible. For set-in stains, allow foam to penetrate overnight, or up to a week.
Max Force™ Spray: Test in an inconspicuous area prior to use. Can be used on all washable whites and colored fabrics. (Some colored fabrics may be prone to color change). Tees Layering Vinyl
And I know you’re wondering how to make your own Camp Tees with Layering Vinyl – we make camp tees every year, but this is the first year that we’ve used multiple colors of vinyl, with vinyl overlapping, so layers of vinyl were a must.
To use multiple layers of different colored vinyl, you first need to cut all of your pieces out individually:
Then start with the bottom layer (for us, the black “D”), attach it to the shirt, then remove the carrier sheet. Then repeat with each color. That’s all there is to it! It’s a little tedious, but worth it when you’re done. The shirts turn out so great!
