I am excited to show you my Master Bathroom – – it was a mini-makeover, and I don’t know why I didn’t do it years ago! If you have a room that needs refreshing, just go for it!
I don’t have a ton of before pictures, because we just jumped right in. Just know that there was dark wallpaper everywhere, and teal carpet! (nothings says awesome quite like vacuuming around a toilet *shudder*). And what “before” pictures I do have aren’t great because I couldn’t back out. But in the meantime I got a new wide-angle lens which is awesome and helps show you the whole room.
Removing the wallpaper I wanted to go the completely opposite direction and chose plain white for the walls. Which is a little out of character, but I really love how clean and big and open it makes the room feel.
Another before and after look:
We were able to do this on quite the budget – it was a mini-makeover for sure. But we did splurge a little on the flooring – I loved these oversized tiles and Trevor did a great job installing them:
We had put this bathroom renovation off because we had grand plans that involved a complete reconfiguration of the room, a giant tiled shower, etc. But reality finally came in and we just did a few updates like paint and flooring that made such a huge difference!

What room of yours needs a refresher? give it a start! I wish I would have done this years ago!
oh wow, that wall paper was REALLY bad! it looks great now though!
OH MY GOSH!! THAT FLOOR!! SWOOON!!! (oops, sorry I’m yelling.. but i really love it THAT much!)
Great mini-makeover. Really brightens it up. If you need some inexpensive organization ideas for under the vanity check out the drawers I built from scrap wood and baskets from Big Lots. Now I have 4 “drawers” under my vanity!

Holy moly. That wall paper was baaaaad. And carpet?? In a bathroom???? Ew.
I do love that tall ceiling, that must seem just wonderful when you’re relaxing in your tub. Great work… doesn’t take much to really change the feel!
wow, so fun! That tile is FABULOUS!!! I’m excited to look closer at the framed mirror and canvas, too. I used to have carpet in the master bath i n my old house, but i kinda liked soft carpet getting out of the shower (yes, i’m weird). but hubby tiled it just before we sold it!
you really did a beautiful job! I love how bright & fresh everything looks. What an improvement.
