Hi, I’m Mandy! and you’re awesome for being here.
I blog from the Kansas City area, have been married for 19 years to the super-cool Trevor and have 4 amazing kiddos. And I like to make stuff!!
And according to the blog about-me experts, I have about 20 seconds to catch your attention enough to get you to keep reading this super-awesome blog…
What’s so amazing about me that will make you want to keep reading?? well, the thing is, nothing really – I don’t have a unique backstory of struggle and triumph. I juggle a bunch of stuff with family and blog and church, try lots of crafts, and enjoy it all – I think if I can do something, really, you can too! The best part of this blog is that I’m just like YOU. This blog here is to show you that I tried something and if you want to follow along, I can give you tutorials on how you can try it too. The best part is inspiring you to try out something crafty yourself. We’re all just in this craftiness together.
Oh, I guess there is that one time I Sewed in the Buff – maybe that makes me stand out?
In case you run into me at Walmart you’ll know me:
Me: I am a rule-follower. I like to be in charge. I have a get-things-done outlook. I like to be on time. I can talk forever, but in big groups or with new people I’m shy and introverted. Probably why I like blogging – it is the introvert’s outlet. I think I can do it all (which I can’t!) and it’s hard to say no. I’m super frugal. I have the worst memory ever. I love pictures (helps me remember awesome adventures). I love to read. And sew. And craft and blog. Obviously. I like funnel cake – also obvious. Mmmm, funnel cake…
Other things you can learn about me from other posts:
My Love Story (and Trevor’s Version)
I have a Cleft Lip
I am a member of the LDS Church – yep, I am a Mormon
I am a consultant with Paparazzi Accessories (you should join my team!)
I love that you want to know a little about me – you can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook and Instagram. Instagram is my super-favorite – love it there!
More Details:
I grew up in the midwest near Kansas City, went to college in Joplin MO, graduated (in 3.5 years – I like to speed through things) with a BS in Sociology. I worked for the State of Kansas for a couple of years while my husband finished school and then turned the working-to-support-the-family over to him.
I met Trevor my freshman year in college on a blind date (we were both 18 – so young!) and we dated for about a year – he went on a 2 year mission for our church and when he got back I was still around. We were married 13 years ago in May.
After he graduated we moved to Wichita, KS where we lived for about 5 years. We loved our town and friends, but had a goal to move back closer to family – so we did.
We’ve lived back in the Kansas City area for about 5 years now – we love being close to family and the new friends we’ve made here. Our kids get to grow up around cousins and enjoying monthly sleepovers at their Grandparents’. I feel like we are living the dream!
Some other players on this blog:
Trevor – I always feel weird referring to “my husband” so now you know, he’s Trevor. He’s amazing. He puts up with the crafting craziness and even gets in on the fun sometimes. In fact he started his own blog, to talk about his side of the craziness – – www.SoIMarriedACraftBlogger.com .
