I just made the cutest wreath!! I had a vision of little pots all lined up with paper flowers, and it turned out so great – love it!

I made this project during our weekly live craft club, but I knew I needed to post about it here! And I have some pinnable images so that you can save the idea for later. This post may contain affiliate links.
Mini Flower Pot Spring Wreath Idea
You’ll need:
—cardstock to make paper flowers
—crickle paper wrapping filler
–scrap wood board to fit inside wreath
—wooden skewers or sticks for flower stems
How to make Paper Flowers
You can check out how to make the paper flowers over on the Craft Club Video.

When you make paper flowers, it’s all about DIMENSION!! Curling the edges to add depth and then layering them staggered. Hopefully I can do a quick tutorial video on that soon.

I had a few different kinds of paper flowers, I used ones from the Silhouette Design store called “3d lisianthus flower” and “rose flower”. I also used a hand punch from Fiskars called Petal by Petal.

Once you’ve created the flowers, glue them on the back to a wooden skewer. That will be your flower stem.
Paper Flower Pot Assembly
To assemble each pot, I put a foam ball in the pot and then pushed the skewer down into the foam.

Then I put a generous amount of hot glue on top of the foam ball and pressed the crinkle paper onto it. That’s it!

Flower Pot Wreath Assembly
To make it into a wreath, I had a scrap piece of wood cut to fit inside the embroidery hoop like a shelf. I used wood glue to hold it in place and also tacked in a trim nail in each side.
I attached each pot on top of the board with hot glue, gluing the bottom of the pot to the shelf. The bottom of the pots are slightly wider than my board, so I made sure to push them forward so that anything that was hanging off would hang off in the front.

I tied a ribbon on the top for it to hang.
You could also add a banner or pom poms or other decor – I decided to stick with simple for this one. Muddy boots and cute flowers – must mean it’s springtime!

NOTE: Since the pots tapper out as they go up, they are what touches the door when it’s hanging. You’ll want to hot glue some felt on the back of the pots where they touch your door. You’ll also want to be sure not to slam the door – you don’t want the pots to bounce into your door hard and break.

I’m hooked on Spring Wreaths! I love all of these that I’ve made:

I think this project would be good for an elderly lady myself that has many many hoops. I think that it would be cute with some of the mini flowerpot people sitting on the shelf if someone would show me how to make those. Thanks ever so kindly for inspiration!
