I believe in a living prophet and living apostles, and that God speaks to us in messages through them (in addition to speaking to us through direct prayer communication). Many of you know that I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – twice a year in our church we all gather (via tv and internet broadcast) for a church-wide General Conference. At General Conference, we get to hear thoughts and stories and counsel and direction from the Prophet and Apostles, and I invite you to join in watching.
With General Conference coming up, in Primary the kiddos played a game trying to match names with the faces of the Apostles – it made me realize that my kiddos (and myself!) could use some help brushing up on our who’s who knowledge. I made a quick printable for my kids and thought others might interested as well.

Since we only have a BLACK AND WHITE printer at home, this printable is all in black-and-white, in case you too are in that situation 😉
Apostles Matching Cards
–FREE printables (access at the bottom of this post)
–scissors or a paper cutter (I’m obsessed with having one)
–optional: laminator if you want to be extra, ha!
You might want to print out the picture sheets and name sheets onto cardstock, so they’re not see through, if you’re not laminating them. Then cut them apart on the middle of the gray lines.
We then laminated them, because I’m addicted to laminating all the things (and I’ve hooked my kids on laminating too!), but that’s just a bonus step.
Answer Key Card
I printed the Answer Key page at 35% size so that it was the same size as the cards and would stack in the deck, but if desired, you can print it as a full sheet. There are also blank sheets included.
General Conference Activity Game Ideas
The cards are great for use as a family home evening game or as a quiet activity while watching general conference, or even to quiz each other on car rides. Possibilities are endless! I thought of 3 main ways to play, but I’m sure there are others.
—Matching Game – lay out the pictures, and then see if you can match the name cards to the right person. Or vice-versa by laying out the name cards and matching up the pictures.
—Memory Game – place all the cards face-down. Flip two over to see if you can find a match. A match consists of a photo and the corresponding name. If it’s not a match, flip them back over and it’s the next person’s turn. Keep flipping two at a time until you find matches. You’ll start to remember where the cards are and be able to make matches more easily as the game is played.
—Flash Cards – glue (or less permanent idea – ticky tack) the name card to the back of the photo card. Go through the deck by “quizzing” yourself, pull out a card, and see if you can name who it is. Flip it over to see if you were correct.
