With my big Red and Green Bling Christmas Tree reveal, you might have noticed a few crafty elements. I love all the things the stores offer, but it just wouldn’t be a complete tree without some handmade things in the mix.
I wish you could see these in person – – the glitter on them is amazing – so fun!! When I spotted these super-cute Mason Jar Lids at Michael’s, they reminded me of a snowflake cut out and I instantly thought they’d make great ornaments. But of course they needed a little something – glitter!!
The easiest way to add ultimate glitter coverage is with the Glitter Blast stuff (yep, Michael’s carries it – back by the spray paint). It’s really cool – my only complaint is that I wish a can would go further. But the coverage it gives – awesome! I sprayed the lid with 2 coats. Easy peasy:
I simply hung them with twine that I had in my crafty stash. I love the glittery fun that they add to the tree!
Heads up, the lid packages only come with 2 lids in each package – I was thinking there would be like 8 lids in a pack, so I didn’t have as many as I thought I did. Just need to go back and grab some more!
Another handmade touch on the tree is the paper circle garland – detailed tutorial on that coming up soon! Sneak peek…
Love them! Glitter is awesome..right? 🙂
Mandy, I am so glad you posted this one about jar lids! I’ve been opening my cans and keeping my lids trying to figure out what craft I can make with them. I like this cute idea and plan to give it a try. Thanks!
