Do you love trying new crafting techniques? Me too!! I gave paint pouring a try and loved it! I love how each outcome is different and how there’s no perfect way to complete the craft. You can paint pour on just about anything, but today I have a Paint Pour Coasters Craft Idea for you.
This post may contain affiliate links. I’m excited to show you how I made these!
Paint Pour Coasters
You’ll need:
—Decoart Ready-to-Pour paint – this is the best because, it’s ready-to-pour! Most other pouring techniques you need to mix in something to make the paint more pour-able, but this is all ready right from the bottle.
—3 inch wood discs for the coaster
–paper plate or bowl, rubber gloves, etc
Paint Pour Coasters VIDEO TUTORIAL
Yep, I have a video tutorial for you! If you’d rather learn the steps via pictures, I have that as well on down.
Paint Pour Craft TUTORIAL
To begin, you’ll want to set your coaster on top of something so that the paint can run down over the edges. I used a roll of washi tape under my disc, but anything will work.
Next you just pour the paint onto the disc in a variety of ways – have fun with it!! I tried layered criss crosses:
I also tried puddles:
I also tried using a toothpick to drag through the paint puddles:
Once you have generously poured paint, then you’ll pick up your disc and tip it from side to side to let the paints mesh into each other and even out.
Let dry completely (I let mine dry until the next day). Then it’s time to put a backing onto the coaster. Trace around each coaster onto sticky-backed felt.
Cut the circles out of the felt and stick them onto the back of the disc.
That’s all there is to it!! Enjoy your Paint Pour Coasters Craft Idea. What will you try this new technique on?
