How to Make a Thankful Tree
You’ll need:
—chalkboard or large poster board
–(you can learn how to make the “Give Thanks” banner here)
First up, you can draw a tree – I forgot to take a picture of our plain tree! But it was just freehanded, and it did have chalk leaves drawn onto it. We have a chalkboard wall in our kitchen, but you could easily draw it on a smaller chalkboard or even a large poster board.
Next up, cut the leaves – this was a perfect project for my kiddos!! It kept them busy Thanksgiving morning as we were waiting for friends and family to arrive for the day.
Thanksgiving Tree Activity
We set out the blank leaves and sharpies and tape. As family and friends arrived, they would write things they were thankful for onto the leaves and then tape them up onto our tree. You can see how there’s a little bit of dimension because the tape helps the leaves stand out a bit.
It was so awesome to see all the ideas that everyone had and the things that they were thankful for!
We definitely left the tree up for a couple weeks to reflect on all that we’re grateful for!
Hope you have a great time creating your own Thanksgiving Tradition Idea!
