A handprint turkey is a classic halloween craft, but I’m mixing it up today by using vinyl – it makes it super easy! Did you know that you can HANDCUT vinyl? It’s true – and today’s Vinyl Handprint Turkey Craft tutorial will show you how.
Super fun project that you can craft with kiddos – I thought it’d be way fun to get all the grandkids handprints and then give the turkey to a grandma for a gift. Let me know if you try that!

You’ll need:
—Adhesive vinyl in a variety of fall colors (all the colors I used are from Expressions Vinyl – they’re my favorite!)
—Transfer tape (the new kind with the grid print is my new favorite!!!)
–Scissors, pen
–Pizza Pan (mine is from Walmart, only $0.88!)
Handcut Vinyl Video Tutorial
Lucky you, today there’s a video tutorial!!!
Handcut Vinyl Handprint Turkey Tutorial
–First trace the kiddos hand, just using a regular pen will work.
–Cut out the handprint using scissors. Be sure to cut slightly inside of the pen line. Another option is to trace the hand on the back of the vinyl so that you don’t have to worry about being exactly inside the line 😉
–Apply the transfer tape to the top of the hand cut out. Peel the backing paper off of the back of the vinyl and place vinyl on pizza pan – then peel up the transfer tape and it will leave the vinyl in it’s place. Watch the video to see this part in action.
–Continue layering hands to resemble turkey feathers:
–If desired, add vinyl text (I didn’t handcut the lettering!)
–freehand cut the body shape, gobbler, and beak and attach those pieces as well.
–That’s it!! See, way easy, way fun!! Display and enjoy!
And it’s a perfect keepsake!! Vinyl Handprint Turkey Craft for the win 😉
