Have you seen those flag scarves lately?? I really wanted one, but wanted an amazing deal. I took a chance and ordered one (for only $3!) that shipped from China – I was pretty excited when it actually showed up (I was skeptical!). I wore the flag scarf this Sunday, dressed up and dressed down – I am super weak for Red White Blue attire!
I wore it to church on Sunday, paired with a ruffled skirt I made. I used the leftover fabric from the girls 5-minute ruffled nautical skirts. Instead of making the 5-Minute version, I used the pencil skirt pattern I drafted myself so that it would have a little better fit. But the fabric is so stretchy and forgiving, it didn’t make a difference and I would probably do the 5-minute version in the future.
The scarf is actually a normal scarf, not an infinity scarf, but I just tied the ends together in a knot. I even liked the look of the knot and showcased it up front. After church we headed to family for dinner, so I morphed the outfit into a casual look by swapping the skirt out for boyfriend jeans. And popped on my fun TOMS I bought recently from Zulilly.
I love dressing in Red White Blue patriotic style – and I’ve convinced my family to join in the fun. Yep, we were THAT family at church – matchy matchy:
I made the girls’ dresses last year and LOVE the pattern. And apparently I love making patriotic outfits – – here are links (below the pics) to a few posts you’ll want to check out:
Many, you are just way too cute. I haven’t seen anything that you don’t look adorable in. I love the scarf, the kids outfits and the look on your sons face is too cute! I remember once when my 3 daughters we little I made us all matching dresses to wear to church! They have never let me forget it! I think they felt shamed (Ha!) back then it was a sign that you were dirt poor if you wore homemade clothes! Now….everything is homemade my daughters love it! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
