While visiting my grandparents at the Lake of the Ozarks for July 4th weekend, my grandma made this yummy dessert – the main layer was Twinkies, so of course it was good. The top view:
Here is the view from the underneath side of the pan – that’s where you can tell there are Twinkies:
Want to give it a try?? I got her recipe – –
STRAWBERRY TWINKIE DESSERT
4 cups sliced fresh strawberries ( I used 1 pkg fozen & drained them)
1 ready to use strawberry glaze ( I found it in the produce )
8 twinkies
1 8oz cream cheese (softened)
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 12 oz cool whip, thawed
slice twinkies in half lenghwise, place in a single layer of a 9X13 dish
in mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, & condenesed milk until smooth, fold in whip cream,
combine strawberries & glaze, spoon all over cream cheese mixture, cover & chill 30 min or more. Next time I would put in freezer for a short time before serving .
Enjoy!!

That sounds absolutely divine!!! Too bad we can’t get twinkies in NZ – a deprived nation.
