No-Sew Lemon Lime Costume

You guys know that I am weak for simple Halloween costumes!!  I love making costumes that are based on tshirts, or that are no-sew, and the one today is BOTH!!  These No-Sew Lemon Lime Costumes turned out soooooooo cute!!

Of course then I saw that this idea is already out there, so maybe you’ve seen something similar, but maybe I put it together differently or have different tips or tricks on how to easily make it for yourself.  Full tutorial, AND a video one too!!

No-Sew Lemon Lime Costume Tutorial

You’ll Need:

—tshirt or tunic

–White Felt

—Fabric Glue

–Scissors, pencil, foam brush

First up, you’ll need a green and/or yellow tee or tunic.  I wanted the look of the tunic, so my solution was to buy the XL adult size tshirt and then I cut them down into a tunic and reset the sleeves.  I just used a dress pattern that I had on hand and sewed a tunic, but if you can find one, that works too, or just use the tshirt as-is.  You can see the difference – the tee on the left I had altered and the one on the right is how it came from the store:

Now let’s dive in to the costume!  Place the felt on the tshirt so you can gauge size and then freehand a half circle:

Then you’ll need to cut 4 slices out of the circle.  I folded the felt in half to give myself a fold line to work with in spacing the triangles out.  I just eyeballed the size and shape – you can see more of this in the tutorial video.

Using a foam brush, apply the fabric glue to the back of your felt shape.  I like using the foam brush to spread the glue instead of squirting it directly onto the felt because if you put the glue on tooo thick, it might seep through the felt. So when I use a brush it helps me to make sure I don’t get it on too thick.

Let dry according to bottle directions and that’s it!!   Whoop whoop!! We paired it with some simple black leggings and they’re good to go!

I think it’s so so cute!!  I kind of want to wear it myself 😉 . I think and orange would be a fun addition to the No-Sew Lemon Lime Costume set as well, if you had 3 girls or friends that wanted to dress alike.
