These Hershey Kiss Cookies are my favorite holiday cookies! The fun of the surprise in the middle is great and oh so yummy. We call them Loretta Lynn Cookies and they are going to be a must-make for you!
As I was making them this year, I wondered if I’ve ever told you about it – I have, but it was clear back over 10 years ago (my Signature Cookies) and so it definitely needed a revamp!

Hershey Kiss Cookies
Also referred to as Loretta Lynn Cookies
3/4 C Crisco/Shortening (butter-flavored)
1/2 C Sugar
1/4 C packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 3/4 C flour
1/2 C chopped pecans (optional)
1 package kisses
Mix shortening, sugars, and egg until creamed together. Add vanilla, almond, baking powder and salt, mix. Then mix in flour and pecans (optional).
Roll dough into small ball, press hershey kiss into ball and then press the dough all around the Hershey Kiss.
Bake at 350 degrees for approx 12 minutes. Let Cool.
Dip in icing and add sprinkles if desired.
Icing:
1/2 stick butter
spoonful shortening
1 tsp almond
2 tbsp milk
1/2 bag pwder sugar
add more milk to adjust as needed for desired consistency
