I pulled this post off my family blog from back in 2008 – before I had my craft blog…..
The reason I went to the effort of digging this off my family blog….
YES – that’s the type of cookie on the back of the Hershey’s Kisses bag – and it’s MY holiday cookie! Now the world can share in my love. The recipes are a little different —
Hershey’s Recipe:
1 C butter, softened
1/2 C Sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 3/4 C flour
1 C nuts
36 Kisses
powdered sugar
Loretta Lynn Cookies (the recipe I use):
3/4 C Crisco
1/2 C Sugar
1/4 C packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond
1 3/4 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C pecans
1 package kisses
and I dip mine in icing instead of coating it in powdered sugar
Icing:
1/2 stick butter
spoonful shortening
1 tsp almond
2 tbsp milk
1/2 bag pwder sugar
–adjust as needed for desired consistency
Mmmm- now I want to make some…
And speaking of recipes on packages, my friend Aimee said the one on the back of the Candy Cane Kisses is unbelievably delicious….

I have never seen cookies like that before. They look delicious! I think the candy cane kisses would be good inside those kisses too!
I am cohosting a Cookie Exchange linky party and I would love it if you would link up your cookies.

How long do you cook them for, and at what oven setting? (Thanks for the recipe. Your cookies look awesome!)
oops – mine bake at 350 degrees and I think it’s for 8-10 minutes – just until they turn golden
Thank you 🙂
Sounds delicious!
