I have been trying out the new Loop-It yarn, and I might be obsessed 😉 – if you have been scared of crochet or knitting projects, but still want to make super awesome yarn projects, you’ve GOT to try looping. All you need is your FINGERS. Yep, finger looping. And you can make super cool things like this Finger Looping Chunky Infinity Scarf. This post is in collaboration with Michael’s Stores as a part of their Michael’s Makers team – all opinions are my own.
No skills required, anyone can do this! And since it’s such a chunky yarn, it works up in no time. Here are some images to pin in case you want to save these instructions for later:
How to Finger Looping with Loop-It Yarn
Finger looping is so easy! You’ve got this! Basically you have your “project”, and then with your “working yarn” (which is the yarn connected to the skein/ball), you push the working yarn through the project loops. Thats it! Just pushing one loop through another and as you do this your project will start to form.
Finger Looping Infinity Scarf VIDEO TUTORIAL
I think the best way to give you instructions on this infinity scarf is to show you, so I put together a quick video. Enjoy!
Finger Looping Infinity Scarf Pattern Instructions
Start with 7 loops. Then with the next loop(8), push it through loop 7. Then skip the next loop on the working yarn and the next loop on the project. Then push the next loop on the working yarn (10) into the next project loop (5). Repeat this pattern by alternating between pushing a loop through and dropping a loop. Every other one. Hopefully you can see it in the video! The loops you are pushing through each other will form the “rows” and then the loose loops will be inbetween the rows. I love the chunkiness and texture that you get when you leave some of the loops out!
Keep going until it is as long as you want it (mine is long enough to loop around twice), and then connect the two ends together – again, this part is shown in the video. That’s all there is to it!! Have fun making your Finger Looping Chunky Infinity Scarf!
