Attention to anyone who wants to escape away for the weekend and craft the days away – I am SO excited to tell you about The Craft Escape!! My friend Angela and I are starting out on a new venture, The Craft Escape. @TheCraftEscape is just that – an escape from the everyday to have a magical crafty weekend. So grab a friend, and register for this all-inclusive (food, lodging, crafts) getaway retreat – it’s a short drive north of Kansas City, and we’re providing transportation to/from the airport if needed. March 10-13th.
We went on local TV this morning to tell about it and the projects, but we also did a periscope all about it as well, so check that out (@sugarbeecrafts on periscope), and you can read all of the Frequently Asked Questions over at The Craft Escape page.
I am SO SO excited about this – – 3 days away, with 20 others that are excited about crafting, tackling one craft project after another, while food and lodging is included – it’s seriously a dream come true 😉 The Craft Escape is a laid back relaxing weekend where you can come with friends or make new ones. You will be able to participate in all 8+ crafts during the workshop times as well as plenty of non-scheduled time to relax or keep working on crafts.
We are lining up some AMAZING guest presenters who are experts in their crafting fields. Along with the projects we’re presenting – it’s going to be amazing! You can check out the tentative schedule and list of projects, and I’ve got a sneak peek of just a few of them for ya…
String Art is ever-popular – you’ll be going home with your own string art as you learn the ins and outs to perfecting this craft – and you can do any shape you want (you don’t have to stick with a state!)
We’ll have super cute rainbow garland’s to put together, with felt balls from Vintage Kitchen – I can’t get enough of felt balls!
You’ll get to learn to sew (or learn techniques if you’re not new to sewing) from Misty who produces YouTube videos and does set design for Missouri Star Quilt Co and other sewists and crafters – these zipper pouches are perfect because we all need them, and the options to make them in different varieties are endless!
And then after stepping up those sewing skills, we will walk you through a full-size apron, complete with trying your hand at the technique of paper-piecing. Again, don’t let sewing intimidate you – we’re going to hold you hand all the way through this!
There will be a Yarn Lounge and we’ll be on-hand to teach the basics of crochet and beyond.
We will have food crafting as well, including mastering Royal Frosting Cookies (and be a pro like all those cookie decorating videos you’ve been seeing on facebook!) – iFrostCookies will lead us on this project.
Shannon’s Studios will lead in the relaxing craft of watercolor as we learn the basics and techniques to create Cabbage Roses.
You’ll want to be thinking of your favorite quote NOW so that you’ll be ready for our Wood Quote Sign Class – this has limitless possibilities!
And Ariean of One Krieger Chick will be using her home decor and crafting expertise to teach all about the art of Tea Towel designing.
Anyways, SUPER excited about getting to spend a whole weekend crafting with some of you!! If you’re as excited as I am, you can jump right over and REGISTER (attendance is limited, so you’ll want to grab your spot!)
