You guys – – did you see?? I did it – I jumped to WordPress. I’m lost, but I’m hoping I’ll catch on and tweak this little blog into shape. This is my first post on the new platform, so here we go…
This post is sponsored by Darice (who supplied the product) but all opinions are my own.
We received a HUGE box of Sock Puppet Friends from Darice – the kids were super super excited (spoiler alert – giveaway down below!). It ended up being perfect timing…
my grandpa had just passed away unexpectedly in an accident – so we were in the midst of lots of family things. All those going-ons can be overwhelming, and it was nice to be able to pull out the puppets and have a little while to step back and just play with the kiddos. The puppets provided a little break from our reality, and I’m super grateful for that.
I loved that the kits contained everything you needed – we were spending lots of time at my parent’s house, so I just grabbed the kits to work on up there. And I didn’t need to bring any other craft supplies – nice not to have to think about that. You can buy the Sock Friends Puppet kits at at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Centers, Michaels, Meijer, and other independent retailers .
The kits come with all the pieces and with sticky double-sided tabs to put everything together. The tabs were a little tricky to pull the backing off of, but they had a nice “stick” to them. The instructions were pretty lienant, which my kids liked – they didn’t have to stick to specific step-by-steps – they just built the puppets as they wanted to build them.
Everyone from my 5 year old to my 11 year old was excited to make the puppets, so they were a hit for all ages. My kids love putting on “shows”, so puppets are perfect for them and their imagination. We even had to cut the puppet show short, you know what I mean 🙂
Sock Friends Puppets even has an iOS app for kids that bring custom puppet creations to life – how cool is that?! Check out the puppet fun in their video – – you’ll be hooked 🙂
And then after the puppet show, with lots of family in town, and to keep busy and occupied, we commenced building a bridge:

Personally I love the giraffe, but my little grandsons would love the monsters. I’m going to buying these for an upcoming family reunion either as an activity or for in gift bags.
