Red, White, and Blue Napkin Garland

Hey everyone, Britni here are again from Play. Party. Pin. I’m so excited to be sharing a simple, and I mean simple, red, white, and blue craft as part of Mandy’s red, white, and blue series! This red, white, and blue garland is the perfect way to add a little colorful decor to your 4th of July party!

I came up with this idea when I was walking through one of my favorite stores and saw their fun collection of red, white, and blue paper napkins. I used a combination of different patterns, sizes, and lengths to add interest to the garland, but you can use whatever you can find.

Red, White, and Blue Paper Garland

Supplies: 

• Paper napkins in red, white, and blue patterns
• Either red or blue baking twine
• Double-sided permanent tape

Instructions: 

First, you need to figure out where you’ll be hanging the garland and measure how much baking twine you’ll need. Once you’ve determined the length of the garland, cut your baking twine accordingly.

After your baking twine is cut, line up your paper napkins along the baking twine with the baking twine down the center fold of the napkins. I stuck with one particular pattern, but you could do a random order, color blocking, or really whatever you think looks best.

Once your napkins are all lined up, add a small piece of double-sided tape on to the inside of each of the napkins right below the baking twine. Be careful to not tape the baking twine, so that you can reposition the napkins as needed once the garland is hung. Once the tape is placed, fold the napkins shut over the baking twine.

Once all of the napkins are folded over, hang your garland! You now have a fun and colorful red, white, and blue decoration that’s perfect to add to your party decorations or even just to hang around the house leading up to the 4th!
