Which camp are you in?? The No Shoes in the House camp, or the indifferent camp?? I’m actually indifferent (that’s country living for you!), but I helped a friend make this and she’s a no-shoes-inside type. I think it turned out really cute!! And yes, I have a FREE cut file for the Please Remove Shoes sign.
See?? So cute!! let’s dive right into the tutorial~
Please Remove Shoes sign
You’ll need:
–random scrap board
–paint
–vinyl (I buy all my vinyl from Expressions Vinyl – it’s awesome, and shipping is lightning fast! affl. link, but I really do love them!)
Now of course I forgot to take step-by-step pics, sorry! But – I’ve got ya covered – I’ll talk ya through it and then you can also watch the short how-to video.
You cut your file out with the Silhouette machine. Then you pull out all the background vinyl – it will leave the letters of your design. Then you put transfer tape on top of it and rub it to adhere the transfer tape. Then you pull the backing off the vinyl – you design will be stuck to the transfer tape. Then just place the design on your board and rub. If it’s going to be an outdoor sign, and your board was rough, it would be a good idea to do a quick layer of mod podge over the whole thing. That’s all there is to it!
Confused?? Don’t worry, you can watch me do a small project here – same technique applies:
