Do you love Picnics?? Us too! But it’s the IDEA of picnics that I love, the fun of a family activity, of being together – I don’t love all the food prep. When I found out that you can get carry-out from Bob Evans Restaurants and take it home for an instant picnic, you’d better believe that I was all on board! Today with our Picnic Time with Bob Evans Restaurants, I have several Tips and Tricks to bring more fun and less stress to your family picnics.
I know that we are making memories when we’re having picnics, and that’s what it’s all about!
Family Picnic – Tips and Tricks
More Fun, Less Stress!! A picnic is less about the blanket, basket, or even being outdoors – it’s more about a feeling when you cozy up with friends and family for an intimate meal. I have a few great tips that have worked for us and our picnics:
—Variety of Options
I normally don’t cater to individual kiddos food requests, but a picnic is supposed to be fun, and if they don’t love having limited food options, why not give them a few more things to choose from? For our recent picnic, we had several side dishes in addition to 3 main dish options.
—Take-out Food
THIS is a game changer. Picnics can seem overwhelming with all the necessary food prep, so take that stress out of the equation and pick up the food! We loved grabbing meals from Bob Evans – with their fresh ingredients and family-friendly dining style, it’s a picnic without all the work!
—Use Paper Products
Some picnic baskets come with utensils, but I love just using paper plates and disposable utensils. It makes clean up super easy and leaves more time for family time.
—Always Include Dessert
All special family meals need dessert, and picnics are no exception. I picked up a strawberry pie from Bob Evans and it is one of the best pies I’ve ever had – sooooo good!!
We learned that Bob Evans had family meals to go when we visited a few weeks ago for Trevor’s birthday – –
He and the kids had been before when I was out of town – they loved their experience and were always talking about it. So I figured it was time for me to try it out with them. It was super family-friendly and everything was yummy! Bob Evans is known for their home-style and rustic design dishes, and they didn’t disappoint. Their sides of homestyle mac and cheese and coleslaw were sooooo good!
If you haven’t tried out Bob Evans yet, what are you waiting for? Head on in for the Farm-Fresh Flavor, or grab some family to-go boxes and have that impromptu perfect picnic you’re always saying you want to do (but haven’t yet!!). Enjoy your Picnic Time with Bob Evans, yum!
