School is back in session, which means life speeds up to 100 miles per hour and everyone is busy going in every different direction to sports practices, church activities, school meetings, friends houses, study groups, etc., etc., Ahhh!! Craziness! This is when I love pulling out a new game that we can all sit down and enjoy as a family while taking a break from the chaos. Here’s a compiled list of some of my favorites, plus a few that look like fun!
Don’t let the name fool you, it IS for families with young kids! It’s inspired by Cards Against Humanity, but it’s totally appropriate for the young kids. Check out Not Parent Approved!
I feel like 5 Second Rule is a classic! Be sure to give it a try if you haven’t already!
The Game of Things is another good one, especially in a party setting!
Quelf is one of the family favorites! It’s wacky, and weird, and challenges players to do some hilarious absurd things. I highly recommend!
Have you ever played the game “Spoons“? Honestly, you don’t need a game set to play, just a deck of cards and some spoons, but having it all nicely put together in a game set makes it easy to pull out in a jiff! Oh, and this one is a favorite! Games get intense at my house!
I’ve never played Blink, but it looks like fun! Added bonus that it’s only a deck of cards, so it’s easy to travel with!
Uno is a game that everyone should have in their artillery. It’s fast, easy, and is still fun no matter how old you are! I like this one because it comes in a tin box and gives different ideas for game play.
I have never heard of Monster Misfits before, but it looks like it could be lots of fun!
Exploding Kittens is a hilarious game that keeps everybody laughing – one that I would recommend for sure!
Wackee Six is another family favorite of mine – a must for any family gathering! Things move quick, so be sure to bring your “A” game!
Though I haven’t played Goat Lords before, it has really great reviews! I can’t wait to try this one out.
It’s only by chance that I stumbled upon this new game, Bears vs. Babies – Whuuuuut??? It’s made by the same guy who created Exploding Kittens, and I’m already excited to play this one too!
Again, I love games that are easy to bring anywhere you go, so card games are always a winner! S’Quarrels looks like fun to me!
Since we’re seeming to find the forest animal games here, how about Deer in the Headlights?
Have you tried any of these games before? Which ones am I missing out on??
