How to Add Text to a Ribbon
To add words to the ribbon, I simply used a light box (you can also use a glass door or window – anything to put light behind your project) and traced it! Print out your saying, then tape the ribbon on top it. Trace onto the ribbon using a felt-tipped pen or marker – that’s it!
How to Add a shelf to a Hoop Wreath
I wanted a little shelf for all the minatures to sit on – I simply used a wooden ruler and cut it to length. Then I put a generous amount of hot glue on each end of the ruler and placed it securely in the hoop. I used hot glue to add garland and embellishment around the “shelf”. I also used hot glue to secure the minature trees and gnomes on top of the shelf.
How to Make a Yarn Gnome
I have seen a few gnomes out of pom poms (especially this cute gnome one from Flamingo Toes – go see it!!) and socks, etc, but I needed a gnome that was pretty small and even the smallest pom pom wouldn’t work – I ended up just using a little bit of yarn in a faux tassel, capped with felt and a wooden bead for a nose. You can see the how-to in the instructional video.
Winter Wreath Craft
I love how it turned out!! I love the depth that the minatures give instead of it being a flat design. I love how it’s fun and will be able to be displayed all winter long, not just for the holidays!
