I know, I know, it’s only August – – but I have a fun pumpkin idea for you and I want to give you plenty of time to make it before fall (although really, it’ll only take like 3 minutes to make….)
I was sent some blank foam pumpkins from Michael’s, which is so fun because they’re a blank slate – sky’s the limit on what you can do with them!
I headed to Michael’s to get some inspiration and immediately saw tons of things that would work… (sneak peek – that washi tape! I bought several rolls and have a washi tape pumpkin coming up….)
I was drawn to those blingy swirls and shapes! Perfect and EASY pumpkin decor!
Really, you just peel off the decals and stick it on your pumpkin. Then I used some fun spiderweb ribbon to top of the look. I attached the ribbon with a couple of straight pins pushed right down into the foam.
I LOVE using spiders in Halloween decor – – they are just “scary” enough. Some stuff, like the mummies, etc, can get pretty creepy, but spiders, they’re just right.
· All Michaels locations are hosting a Great Pumpkin Event on Saturday, October 5 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. For only $6 (which covers the cost of a 9” carveable pumpkin) kids can create their own pumpkin design and a free face painter will also be on hand. A great weekend event for the whole family!
Yep, craft shopping. That’s what I did my first kid-free fall day – what else?!
