It’s time for a Michael’s RE-Love Blogger Challenge — time to give something a facelift.
I have this little garden gnome that I found at a garage sale, begging for a little RE-fresh:
here’s the quick redo…
Michael’s Craft Stores has a TON of paint selections – including massive amounts of spraypaint and craft paint. I snapped some pictures while I was shopping – –
I grabbed some spray paint – primer and sealer – and planned on using craft paint to spruce him up in all sorts of fun colors. A hip-happen’ gnome. Wild and Bright.
But then I sprayed the gray primer. And I liked the simplicity. Really liked it.
So I changed my plan and sprayed him with a coat of “nickel” spraypaint and then topped it off with the clear.
The final look, all shiny and ready to guard our home:
Love it!
I don’t know if Trevor is on board with it – his post dropped tons of Star Wars references that I didn’t even get.
And I’ve got another RE-love project in the works…. it involves a pallet 🙂 Stay tuned for that coming up early next week!

Trevor’s post made me absolutely crack up…and my husband, too! I know that my husband feels the same way Trevor does about some of the things I do. Have a great day spray painting stuff!

Ah, I’m disappointed, I thought Trevor was telling the truth! I guess it’s not far enough in the future for that yet though 🙁

p.s. I ended up with grey drawers because I liked the look of the primer so much I didn’t bother to do the colour coats, just went straight to varnish lol

I cracked up at Trevor’s post too, but I didn’t get the Star Wars references either… haha. I like your little gnome though!

Uh, my husband is all about the Star Wars references and I never get them. I’ll have to show him Trevor’s post.
