THIS IS A SPONSORED POST IN COLLABORATION WITH WAVERLY INSPIRATIONS AS PART OF THEIR BLOGGER TEAM
You guys – the Waverly Inspirations line at Walmart has the CUTEST holiday fabric – I immediately knew I wanted to turn it into a Chevron Holiday Tunic Dress for my niece – so so cute!
See, it had to be a dress! it turned out so great!
Chevron Holiday Tunic Dress
I used the Simplicity Pattern 8101 with a few modifications – I didn’t do french seams, I just serged everything inside. And I made my own bias tape from the green fabric and used it along the top neckline. This is the first time I’ve used this pattern and I’ll definitely be sewing it again – it went together really quickly. And I love how it features two fabrics – it’s just perfect.
Wooden Bead Necklace
For a little added fun, I painted a few wooden beads with the Waverly Inspirations paint that coordinates with the fabric – a perfect green
And then just strung it on twine, and voila, cute necklace detail:
Rolled Fabric Flower Headband
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m addicted to rolled fabric flowers – they’re just so fun and easy to make, and they always look so great . Perfect for a headband accessory! If you’re not up for sewing a whole holiday dress, you could just simply whip up a holiday headband! (I’m working on a new video for this headband – for now, you can check out this stunning video tutorial from 2010 on how to roll a fabric flower)
And that’s all there is to it! Wear and enjoy!!
