this post is in collaboration with Behr as I'm part of the Behr DIY Expert team, I was provided product for this post
I had a dresser that was begging for a redo, and it’s perfect timing because I knew it would look great in one of the Behr 2016 Color Trends – I love being a part of the Behr DIY Expert team for fun projects like this! And bonus, today’s post is a GIVEAWAY – yep, you could win paint, for a project redo of your own (more info on that on down…) – – I just love my Coralette Dresser Redo:
I think it turned out perfect, just what I imagined in my mind:
My tip for a quick makeover on a dresser – change up the color of the drawers. It’s an easy project, and it really gives a whole new look. This is the 3rd time I’ve redone this dresser! The first time, I painted the base of the dresser white and the drawers a light green to match the baby nursery’s walls. I don’t think I ever got a picture of what it looked like before then… But I really loved it in the nursery. Well it’s a little on the small side, so as I upgraded to a bigger dresser for my kiddo, I then FOILED the front of the drawers using just regular foil from the kitchen – it was awesome (although the picture isn’t great) and I used it in my craft room. Well, when we moved the foil got a little banged up and torn in a few spots, as to be expected. So it was time for another redo – I went with Behr Premium Plus in Coralette, and it’ll be perfect for our guest room! All the while the base stayed the same – see, easy way to get a whole new look.
Let’s dive right in – – I pulled all the foil off and washed the fronts of the drawers because they had glue residue on them.
Then I busted out my 2016 Color Trends and settled for sure on Coralette (it’s what I thought I’d go with, but you never know). It’s a perfect orangey-peachy-coral.
After the first coat I left the drawers to dry inside the garage and apparently our puppy couldn’t resist a little taste?!!
So I painted a second coat and let that try as well. Then I attached new handles on – – hardware can be pricey, but it’s so worth it!
Then I topped it with a few cute things I’ve been collecting, like bedsprings to hold wildflowers…
And a bunch of ampersands that I’ve apparently collected and didn’t know it…
If you caught my periscope (I’m @sugarbeecrafts over there) tour of my craft room, you’ll remember I kept a white wall in there just for photo shoot type of things – that’s where I was able to take pic of this dresser – just open my door and let the natural light in 😉 – – my view from the porch:
So cute!
And you’re now really wanting to get your hands on some Behr ColorTrends paint of your own, right?! Well, here ya go – good luck in the giveaway below:

Mandy this is absolutely gorgeous!! <3
Oh Mandy! This is amazing! I was just considering doing a 2-toned finish like that on a dresser and I think I have decided for sure now! The coral is amazing too!
I’m really diggin’ the charcoal plum.

What did you use to paint it? Sponge roller? Brush? Or did you spray it?
with previous layers it had been painted just with a brush, so that’s what I did again. If it were the first time painting it, I might have attempted to spray it, because lately I’m hooked on using a sprayer. But brushing really goes fast when it’s just drawer fronts.
I want to buy a sprayer. What is the brand and model of your sprayer? I don’t know much about them and it seems like you’ve had great luck with yours.
This is so seriously gorgeous that I squeaked when I saw it! I’d love it if you could stop by and link up with us at Best of the Weekend. So pretty!
