this is a sponsored post but all opinions are my own
Have you heard of the new Sprout by HP – if not, let me tell you, ah-maz-ing. It’s the first ever immersive computer, and there is just so much potential (like 3D pictures -yes, 3.D.). I’m just starting to dive into it, and I know lots more projects will be heading your way. It comes practically ready out-of-the box, with set up so simple that I was able to do it myself.
It’s unique because there are 2 touch surfaces – not only is the screen a touchscreen, but there is also an interactive mat, where you can drag images, create designs, etc. The built-in overhead camera takes amazing photos of objects, even if they aren’t flat. And takes them without a background (or you can add back in the white background if you want). It’s probably my favorite feature. Just think, if you sell products, instead of dragging out a light box, and trying to get a good photo, you can just set it on the mat and bam, photo. And without a background! So you can create style boards easily with craft projects or shop products.
Today I’m doing a simple showcase of one part of Sprout. Taking 3D objects and turning them in to a usable image. My intent was to create a fun summer phone screen background, but there are other awesome possibilities, like printing it into wrapping paper, turning it into fabric, or just printing it out and using as a photo backdrop in blogging (which I do!) – and I have the free printable from my image down below.
Summer crafting goes hand-in-hand with perler beads, so I wanted to use them in my creation. I snapped the pic, then moved the beads off to the side. Then I could manipulate the image just as I wanted, etc, using the mat.
You really have to see how cool this feature is (head to Sprout.com to see if there’s a demo near you!). Once finished I saved the captured image and have it here to share with you. I also added it to my phone:
We’re just settling in to our new home, but the first thing that went in was our Sprout by HP. Wouldn’t this same method I used be fun to use to make personalized I Spy books from toys that your kiddos own? That’s on my to-do list, but first I need to find which box the toys are packed away in….
For now, here’s your free printable of perler beads – I’d love to see what you do with it!
And it’s so much more than a creative tool – – At its core, Sprout is a high-performance all-in-one PC with an Intel® Core™ i7 Processor, 1 TB of storage, and a Windows operating system. So it has plenty of power to help you get creative and achieve more—from the home to the studio to the office.

Um, I think I have all these devices separately and they cost a heckuva lot less than their starting price of $1900!! This seems a bit much for such a niche machine.
Given that, I’d love HP to send me one gratis so I can give them my opinion too!
