We recently had the opportunity to attend the 2019 #BeachesMoms Social Media on the Sand conference at Beaches Turks and Caicos. Last year we took the boys, and the girls had been jealous ever since. They were so excited that this year was their year to go. At 13 and 15, they were the perfect ages to enjoy all of the amazing teen activities at Beaches Turks and Caicos.
We visited Beaches Turks and Caicos as part of the #BeachesMoms Social Media on the Sand conference. All opinions are our own.
Beaches Turks and Caicos is an all-inclusive family resort situated along the beautiful 12-mile Grace Bay Beach, which was voted “#1 World’s Best Beach” by TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards. We had an absolutely AMAZING experience! There is so much to do and experience that each day felt like a unique adventure. It’s no surprise to us that Beaches has been the World Travel Award Winner for best All-Inclusive Family Resort Brand for 20 years in a row.
The girls had heard SOOO many good things from the boys about last year’s trip that they already had their list of “must-do’s” compiled months in advance. Though famous for their awesome Sesame Street themed activities for younger kids, Beaches is loaded with things to keep teens happy all week long. Here are the Top 10 Teen Activities at Beaches Turks & Caicos:
Top 10 Teen Activities at Beaches Turks and Caicos
#1 Hit the Beach
It’s impossible to start any list about Beaches Turks and Caicos without starting with the amazing Grace Bay beach. This white sand beach has some of the softest sand that we’ve ever come across. And it’s so picturesque; the girls couldn’t stop taking pictures!
#2 Load up on Mocktails
It didn’t take the girls long to learn that all-inclusive means all-inclusive! They loved being able to order virgin Piña Coladas, Strawberry Daiquiris, and more. Coming from a family that doesn’t drink alcohol and is always on a budget, they had never had the chance to try these frozen drinks and they loved it!
#3 Hit the Water Park
The girls were often ready to get out of the sand but still be wet; that’s when we hit up Pirate Island Water Park. This amazing 45,000 sf park is the perfect spot for teens to both relax and have fun. They loved the three huge water slides, two of which you can slide down with tubes and the third which you can slide down on your back. They also went round and round the lazy river in the available tubes.
#4 Catch a Wave at the SurfStream Surf Simulator
Both girls were ready to try their hand a the SurfStream Surf Simulator. After a quick tutorial from the super-fun instructors, they were out there, both stand-up surfing and laying down for boogie boarding.
#5 Grab a Bite to Eat
Teens get hungry. And eat a lot. Eating out breakfast, lunch and dinner at the amazing restaurants at Beaches Turks and Caicos was perfect for their ever-present appetites. They wanted to try a different restaurant for each meal, which we did, and we still weren’t able to hit every place! They also had the opportunity to explore with some new dishes that they had never tried, such as fine French cuisine and sushi. They loved being able to order whatever they wanted from the menu, including two deserts if it suited their fancy!
#6 Lounge in the Ocean
We already mentioned how amazing the beach is, but we can’t forget to mention the water! It is so crystal clear and is the perfect temperature for relaxing. Anytime we walked near the ocean they made a beeline to the water and couldn’t wait to get in. Our favorite spot was the awesome yellow rings that were tethered just off-shore, complete with a trampoline-like bottom that you could relax in and feel the waves coming in.
#7 Water Thrills at Beaches Turks and Caicos
The girls were amazed at all of the water activities that were included at no extra cost. We talked about how amazing the water activities at Beaches Turks and Caicos were last year, and they did not disappoint again this year. The girls had a blast on the Hobie Cats, kayaking, snorkeling, and were even able to stand up paddle board this year (last year it was too windy).
#8 Amazing Selfies
Beaches Turks and Caicos is such a beautiful spot that we never ran out of selfie opportunities. Green palm trees, glowing pools at night, white beaches, you name it, there’s a selfie spot! Our favorite selfie of the trip was when our 15-year old was trying to get a selfie as the Sesame Street parade passed by, and Cookie Monster left the parade to come and photo-bomb her selfie! Even Big Bird got in on the selfie action!
#9 Hang out at Club Liquid and XBOX Play Lounge
Beaches has an amazing teen-oriented area with lots of fun activities. Trench Town offers pool, ping-pong, and other games, the XBOX Play Lounge has over 25 XBOX and TV stations, and Club Liquid has teen-only hours and activities. Being on the shy side and not into video games, our girls didn’t take advantage of all of these activities, though the boys had a blast there last year.
#10 Snack, Snack, and Snack
We already mentioned the amazing meals we had, but Beaches Turks and Caicos has even more options for those in-between-meals hunger pangs that can hit both teens and adults alike. We had more than our share of ice cream and milk shakes at Curls’n Swirls, and more than once stopped for some cheesy goodness at The Mac Daddy of Cheese food truck, which offers amazing macaroni and cheese recipes. There was never a chance for us to go hungry!
More Amazing Teen Activities at Beaches Turks and Caicos
We had a blast, with adventure filled days and succulent meals! Still, there are even MORE things that teens can do at Beaches Turks and Caicos that we just didn’t have time to squeeze in. Things like included scuba diving, XBOX, teen volleyball, tennis lessons, and off-resort excursions. We could fill another trip with new activities and still not do it all!!
After all the amazing stories the boys told after last year’s trip, our girls came to Beaches Turks and Caicos with pretty high expectations, and Beaches delivered! They had an amazing time with never a dull moment and memories for a lifetime. We can’t wait to go back!
