These are notes from the classes I took at SNAP and are obviously the things that stood out to me, things I want to implement, etc – check out their blog for more info on the sessions, better pictures, fun times, etc.
There was a class offered over lunch – of course we took it! Nothing like eating yummy sandwiches and learning all about Facebook Apps (of which I’m clueless). That’s blogger fun for ya.
Here we go with my jumbled notes:
–use the timeline Cover Photo to your advantage – tell what you’re about – it makes a HUGE impact
–you can “Highlight” posts – use that feature! (I need to do this) – very impactful
–with timeline, fans can now direct message you – wahoo!
Custom Apps
–custom pictures for apps (except for the “photos” app)
–if you have over 3 apps then you have to utilize the dropdown box
Apps
–there’s a blog app
–integrated location
–portray what you’re about
–example: Pampers
Shortstack.com – – best place to create apps easily
“Fan Gate” – different landing page for fans
You can’t use arrows or text cues in your cover photo, so think outside the box – example, Livestrong draws the visual eye down to click on the blog app:
Don’t use the words “giveaway, free, sweepstakes, contest” – could set off warning flags for FB
–giveaways have to be through apps – must have disclaimer
–connect your social properties – see the screen shot – everything affects everything else
Integrate your blog to facebook
Helpful Sources, App creators, etc:
Shortstack, tabfusion, northsocial, involver, wildfire – imass, rafflecopter, customizer

I discovered shortstack a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. So easy to make custom tabs – I integrated my RSS feed, and Pinterest into my page, as well as created a place where I have links to all my social sites. So easy to use. Definitely recommend it!
And remember, you cannot have aweb address in your cover image. That is a no no and can get your page deleted!

I didn’t know about the fb app for a blog, I will be checking that out soon, thanks!
