This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Florida Orange Juice for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Remember I posted a week or two ago about Florida Orange Juice and I said I’d check back with you – – well, here I am! I really love drinking OJ – its yummy and make me feel healthy and well-balanced.
I said I was going to make pancakes with Orange Juice as suggested – – wowza!! Best. Pancakes. EVER!!
And they’re so simple – – just pancake mix, the eggs it calls for, and then instead of the milk or water it calls for, substitute Orange Juice. I normally do homemade (no mix) pancakes but I used a mix for these and they were AMAZING. I don’t know if it’s cause I haven’t had pancakes in a while or what, but this will be my new go-to.
I think pancakes are a great thing to have kids make to get them involved and doing something. Just add ingredients and mix – something they can do.
They turned out so fluffly and perfect – – thank you OJ!
And the kids raved about them – – “wow, these are really good!!”
So, speaking of Orange Juice, DID YOU KNOW (I love random facts):
One 8‐ounce serving of 100 percent orange juice is a good source of potassium and folate and an excellent source of vitamin C.
· One serving of 100 percent orange juice is more nutrient dense than many commonly-consumed 100 percent fruit juices.[1]
· A key recommendation of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans is to increase fruit intake.
o One 8-ounce glass of 100 percent orange juice provides half of the USDA-recommended daily fruit intake for most adults, based on a 2,000-calorie diet,
And let’s talk nutrition tips again, cause in the last post that’s where I got the brilliant idea to put OJ in pancakes…
—Think you don’t have time for a complete breakfast? Blend your favorite fruit with 100 percent Florida orange juice and low-fat yogurt for a convenient, on-the-go smoothie.
—Plan ahead and take a cooler with portable, smart snacks that fit your on-the-go lifestyle like nuts, hummus with veggies, granola bars and 8-ounce cartons of 100 percent orange juice that will help give you the energy and nutrients you need to get through your travel day.
—Choose leaner cuts of beef, pork, and poultry to grill and pair your protein with other nutrient-rich foods, such as high-fiber fruit, vegetables, whole grains and healthy fats. Add 100 percent Florida orange juice to marinades for poultry and pork for a refreshing citrus zing and pour a glass of 100 percent orange juice to accompany your meal. (hmm, a marinade of OJ – I think I want to try that!)
