Magnetic Makeup Organizer

 So, we all know this magnetic makeup organizer from LauraThoughts – first it showed up in my link party then it’s been all over Pinterest:

Well it was on my to-do list.  Then wandering through IKEA on vacation, I saw a big magnetic board in the office section – Trevor’s all “that’s like it could work for your makeup board” – my thoughts exactly!  I know it’s not as cute, but it was sure easy – just hang and you’re done!

Ignore my makeup – some is still from high school.  The bright turquoise my daughter bought me for my birthday.  The magnetic cup I got in the back-to-school section for locker stuff.  The rest of the makeup I just hot glued magnets to the back.

I did have a couple of ideas I loved:

–I glued a couple of magnets to the back of my brush – keeps it off the counter (have I mentioned that my master bathroom has NO drawers – drive me crazy!)

–see those piles of bobby pins by the pink cup holder thing?? I had a couple of extra magnets just sitting on the board and a bunch of stray bobby pins on my counter, then I realized they would be held by the magnet – awesome!!

Here’s the view from my bathroom, looking into my bedroom – – obviously, the bathroom should be next on the remodel list after the bedroom.  Can you catch a glimpse of the headboard I got off Craigslist – great find. Yes, I photoshopped a couple of shirts off of the floor to make it look picked up.
Oh, and while the drill was out to hang the magnet board, Trevor hung this handy hair dryer holder – also found on Pinterest.  So, 2 things done on my “projects to make” list – – 5 billion more to go…..

    Okay, I don’t really wear makeup but OMG, I love the idea for your blow dryer and curling iron! I will totally be stealing that idea. Pinned it for future project for sure. I am also wondering if that would work in my kitchen too – not sure what for but I love it! Thanks for the ideas!

    Our family bathroom and master bedroom bathroom both don’t have drawers and it drives me nuts too. Where am I supposed to store things?
