I love making treats with my kiddos – it’s my go-to activity for fun times 😉 So when my contributor Katie asked if I wanted to check out her new Kids’ Treats book, you know it was a crazy YES! My kids ooohed and ahhhhed over everything, and we have plenty of plans to work our way through all the ideas, but we settled on trying out the frogs first.
I just love that they’re easy enough for my kids to make, but still turn out so stinkin’ cute! My 8 year old said “this is the funnest thing I have ever made!”
First we gathered up our supplies – oreos, pretzels, candy eyes, candy melts, etc. And of course the book Kids’ Treats to walk us through the steps. You can find it on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble.
Then basically you melt the candy melts and start dipping!
Knock off the extra melt, and then start assembling:
Adding the eyeballs might be the funnest part – they just add so much personality:
Everyone took a turn making their own frog from start to finish – again, I love that this was such a doable treat that my kids could accomplish.
For kids, made by kids. Perfect!
Be sure to grab the Kids’ Treats Book – you’ll love it!

So Cute!!! I am a little out of the element of candy making items—what is the tongue made from? Looked at the pictures but couldn’t figure it out.

It’s from a starburst, kind of stretched out, and then the kids put red sprinkles on it – I guess you can never have enough sprinkles!!
