This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Tuesday Morning.
Have you guys been to Tuesday Morning lately?? There’s one that is kind of new in my area and I went to check it out – SO MANY cute things!! And did you know they have a craft aisle?! It’s true! I picked up some luggage (yep!) and a few home decor items. I found this ceramic cactus first and then picked up a few more things that would work along-side it. But of course you know me (and you’re probably thinking the same thing) – I just can’t not add a personal touch, a little hint of DIY flair! So yep, I glitter dipped the pot. SO GOOD!
And I have a quick tutorial to show you how I did it! An awesome flower pot makeover idea:
Glitter Vase or Pot – supplies
you’ll need:
–a vase or pot – I can’t get over the cuteness of this cactus pot from Tuesday Morning (yes, I hid chocolate in it, boom!)
–fine glitter – I also found this at Tuesday Morning
–Mod Podge
–Painter’s Tape
Glitter Dipped Pot – Video Tutorial
Yep, your lucky day, I put together a video for you! If you prefer the traditional craft tutorial, I have that too!
Simple Glitter Craft Tutorial
Pick out your pot or vase:
Place a line of tape to divide where you want to put glitter and where you don’t. If your pot is slanted like mine, it’s easier to put down several small strips of tape instead of one long strip.
Coat bottom of pot with mod podge:
Mix glitter if desired (I mixed a brown and a green gold to get my desired color)
While mod podge is still wet, shake glitter onto it, covering it generously. Let dry completely.
One dry, shake off any excess glitter. Apply a top coat of mod podge to seal in the glitter. Let dry completely (I waited overnight).
When dry, carefully peel away the painter’s tape to reveal your designed project:
You can scrape away any mistake areas and do any touch up along your line to make it extra crisp.
That’s it! Hide your candy in style 😉
Find a Tuesday Morning near you and grab a fun cactus decor pot for yourself. I’d love to see how you add your own DIY touch!
This is such a cute idea! I love how this turned out! 🙂
