I seem to visit the topic of leggings every few months – it’s a love/hate with them. Shirts need to be long enough, etc. They’re super comfy but not necessarily super flattering. I have a couple of examples….
I think this one is done right – patterned leggings, oversized sweater – cozy and cute:
But then I found this in my photo archives – – I never shared it on a WIWW post – probably because I didn’t love the look. It’s a long shirt but I don’t know, I’m just not loving the whole gig – maybe it’s the black with the oatmeal?
I know you have opinions on leggings – let’s hear it! Do they lend themselves more to winter outfits and layering? Should they be avoided no matter what the season? Do you love them and live in them?

I love them but generally only wear them on very casual days and use them under a skirt that might be above my knee to lengthen the look. They are super comfy though and would rather wear them than other things~ love the first look and I agree on the oatmeal on the second.

I LIVE in leggings! Love them ALL the time! But it is a balance act. If I’m just home lounging I just throw on a long t and maybe a cardigan but if I’m going out, I’ve figured out that layers are awesome. Sometimes throwing on another layer or another necklace or a scarf really makes me love the way I look. I also quit trying to match and I really LOVE not matching! Totally weird for a girl like me that wants to color coordinate everything! I really like that top outfit. I haven’t tried patterned leggings yet!

Love the leggings in the first photo. They look nice on you & have such a pretty pattern.

I’m too old for leggings, but you look darling in them! Love the first outfit a LOT. The second one, not my favorite. But there are a lot of people who really don’t look the best in leggings, IMHO. Because you all wanted to know my opinion, right?? 🙂
P.S. Tomorrow is the last day of my Spring Sale on homemade, natural, vegan luxury soaps. 🙂

Not a fan of leggings at all. I mean they look ok on little girls, like 10 and under. But I absolutely hate it when grown women use them to make their skirts longer. I think you should just add some fabric to the length of the skirt to make it work. I just think adding leggings is a lazy way out. Now if you did tights then yeah, that works better. But if you feel that things should be knee length, then just buy knee length things.

I’m not a fan of wearing leggings as pants. I’ll wear them under a dress if the hem is slightly too short for me but in my thoughts leggings by themselves are not modesty. But that’s just my 2 cents 🙂

I like the second outfit much better than the first (though does the shirt fit funny? or maybe it’s just when the camera took the picture). But then, I don’t get the big fuzzy boot thing either. Unless there is actually snow, everywhere.
That said, I have not worn leggings since college, and have no plans too. They are for kids.

I would love to wear them, but I really don’t like the way they look. In some way I don’t think they are modest. I saw a relative lately wearing leggings with a mini-skirt. Yes, her skin was covered, but it was still a mini-skirt, and because of the tightness of the leggings, still gave the mini-skirt impression. I think that to make them acceptable, it has to be a LONG shirt. I really dislike seeing every curve of someone’s rump. That’s my 59 cents. 🙂
