hello all you lovers of vinyl! Here is a way to use vinyl as a fun embellishment – NOT using a cutting machine! this was on Expressions Vinyl a while ago….
and it looks more like this now…
But anyways, on to the project at hand! …
I made a DIY Chalkboard Pot, and it needed a little something more, so my immediate answer was to embellish it with vinyl dots. It was the perfect touch!
So, there are two ways to go about this – – using a vinyl cutting machine (I have a Silhouette Cameo) or using a circle punch. I’ll show you both:
First, cutting machine. Just make a circle, then use the “duplicate” button to fill the page – and it’ll do everything for you:
When using a cutter, it’ll cut through the vinyl but not the backing, so you peel your circles up like a sticker:
If you have a circle punch, you don’t even need a cutting machine for this project – – just get your punch:
And punch a circle, through the vinyl and it’s backing:
The difference with this is that since it cuts through the backing, you’ll need to peel that off of your circle of vinyl. That’s it! Easy!
Stick them to whatever you’d like to embellish, and you’re good to go. Gotta love vinyl!!
