Who doesn’t love donut holes! Yum! I was actually thinking about making cake pops, until someone suggested using donut holes and I thought that was genius – because everyone loves donut holes! So today I have a quick idea and tutorial on how to make your own Donut Hole Pops Tiered Display – because half of the fun of treats is their presentation.
I think this will be super fun for Valentine’s Day morning, or for a Valentine’s Day party. And of course you can switch out the pink and hearts and use this idea for any type of celebration.
To get started, you’ll need:
–2 Make It Fun Cake Forms, one smaller than the other (this is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own)
–donut holes – yep, I just bought mine, but you can go crazy and make homemade ones if you want – and candy melts and sprinkles
–glitter paper and heart punch, and hot glue
–sticks – sucker sticks or fun straws
First, I added a little fun to the store-bought donut holes. I piped on some candy melt and then sprinkled on some heart sprinkles. Adding embellishments to store-bought food is a fun way to have a homemade look without all the extra work 😉
Then you’ll embellish the cake forms…
I used a punch to punch out a bunch of hearts from red glitter papers. I love that punch – it’s worth getting, I use it all the time. Then I simply used hot glue to attach the hearts to the edges of the foam forms.
Next I stacked the forms and sprinkled candies for added fun and depth. I did knock a few off when I added the donuts, but I thought it’d be easier to put the candies on first than to try to put them on after all the donuts were on.
To turn the donut holes into pops, I used fun paper straws. I used them hole, cut them in half, and cut them in thirds – that way I’d have a variety of heights to work with. Then push one end into the donut (being careful not to go all the way through) and one end into the foam, where desired.
I used this fun felt xoxo banner as a topper to the display – love it!
All lined up, in donut awesomesomeness – –
I just love how this turned out!!
It’s a fun way to kick off any special day or party!
