Part of the fun of gift-giving is the presentation – and so we’re always looking for fun (but for me, simple!) ways to wrap up gifts. I have just the idea for you today for all of your small gifts – Gift Wrapping Idea Filled Ornament! I am part of the Michael’s Makers Team and loved the challenge of this month for Creative Holiday Wrapping.
I love that it’s simple and not expensive, but that it is still unique and everyone will love it!
Let’s get Started! I grabbed all of my supplies at Michael’s – you’ll need:
–plastic ornament shell (it comes in two pieces and snaps together)
–ornament hooks
–filler (I used that crinkle paper stuff from the wrapping section)
–ribbon
First goes in the filler – just a little can make a big impact, so no need to overstuff. Then on top of that set your gift. If you’re still looking for gifts this year, check out Michaels gift guide.
Then you’ll simply snap on the other side of the ornament – it’s plastic and snaps pretty easily. Just make sure to get your filler on the inside and not caught sticking out. And be sure your gift is towards the top of the ornament, so it doesn’t get buried by the filler.
Next up attach the hanger – this one just threads on – –
Finally, top it off with a cute bow around the top – I love this variety pack of simple ribbon that I found near the scrapbooking section:
That’s all there is to it!! See, simple and awesome.
I went a step further and set them in a ceramic dish (they’re only $1 at Michael’s – what a steal!) but you can present them however you want.
Not only did we get to make creative holiday gifts from Michaels, but we also decorated trees! If you haven’t gotten around to putting up your tree yet, the Michaels Makers Dream Tree Reveal and Decorating Tips posts are a must see. And what if you can’t think of what you’re going to give your craftiest friends this season? There are some great projects on Michaels’ DIY Gift Ideas Pinterest board that might call out to you (so fun!).

I made Christmas ornaments with my kiddos’ pic in them last year for the great-grandmas (because do they really need more trinkets to collect dust???- no!), but I never thought about putting the actual gift in them! Such a great idea!!!
