Last year, on the night before the Sunday before Christmas, I decided to whip out some peplum skirts for my girls. Yep, crafter crazy 😉 – – I had them try them on in the morning, made a few adjustments, and then we were happy coordinating family at church. I realize it’s crazy, so I thought I’d give ya a few weeks head start in case you’d like to make something similar. I just love how easy it was to put together a Knit Peplum Skirt.
I had purchased the plaid knit from Girl Charlee – – so basically it’s fabric that feels like tshirt material but looks like a flannel plaid. Love it! Made for a great family pic after church:
I found the tutorial for the peplum knit skirt at Make It and Love It. It’s actually 2 tutorials meshed together – the Stretchy Tube Skirt with the Hip Ruffle Tutorial. I made the waistband higher on mine because I wanted that defined, high-waist look. Head over to there for the instructions, but it’s just basically sewing a tube and for the ruffle cutting a circle of fabric and sewing it on when you attach the waistband. You can do this!
It turned out super super cute!!
And I know you’ll ask – – in the family picture yes, I made my plaid infinity scarf. I thought I had blogged about it, but I guess not cause I can’t find the post anywhere. But I used the tutorial over at Flamingo Toes – the first time I saw it I knew I had to make one!
