I LOVE pictures and want to display them everywhere. I have this picture in our family room but I wanted something more than a plain ole frame. So I tied it in to the room with fabric. When I get to it, I’ll have pillows in this fabric for on the couch. One day….
So here’s how to make a fabric picture mat:
–First buy a frame with a mat, or buy a mat that will fit a frame you already have. This mat was jut plain boring white.
–Cut a piece of fabric slightly larger than the mat, wrap it around the edge and glue it down. (For tips on how to do the corners, it’s the same as HERE on my bulletin board strips for the outer corners – for the inner corners just open them up – see the picture). Since I knew this wouldn’t have any wear and tear (it’s behind glass) I didn’t care what kind of glue I used and grabbed what was closest which happened to be Elmer’s School Glue – I’m sure anything would work.
–That’s it! Stick a picture in, stand back, and enjoy the eyecandy of your crafty ways!
