I love a simple and fun DIY craft project – and this is a perfect one for spring! I recently made a chalkboard pot that fits perfectly with my outdoor space. And I’m here to show you how I made it – you can do this!
I was sent some fun supplies from Westlake Hardware, and then I headed to their store to purchase a plant and potting mix – –
it was so inviting!!
So first thing, I used the Chalkboard Spraypaint to cover the pot. I did this in two coats – be sure to let the pot dry completely between coats. (Trevor loves when I spray paint the grass 🙂 )
That’s it! I find that to get a nice bright chalk it helps to wet the surface then draw the words on. (you can set another example of that on my chalkboard dresser.) So this was just with a regular ole piece of chalk, not a chalk marker or anything.
It looks cozy on my porch:
I love that with a DIY project you can coordinate it with your personal style. You can find my Ombre Wooden Welcome Mat post here.
Giveaway!!
I’ve got a $15 giftcard to Westlake Hardware if you’d like to make your own Chalkboard Pot.
(They are based in the midwest so you’ll want to be sure you’re able to get to a store to use your gift certificate if you win). To enter, just leave a comment on this post – that’s it! Good luck – giveaway ends Friday, May 17th, 2013, noon central time.
