It’s that time of year again – The Color Run is coming up!! Woot Woot!
We did this 5K last year as a family (minus the 2 older kids who were on vacation with their grandparents) and it was awesome. Let’s take a little look-back at last year….
Remember, I even made all the kids matching clothes to run in – The Color Run Gang – the “before” :

There are tons of videos on the Color Run – just watching them gets you excited for the race. We’ve been watching and loving them and getting the kiddos psyched for next Saturday.
It’s The Color Run™, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.
It is un-timed – more about the fun then about running fast. In fact, most people walked in our section last year. Perfect for families and anyone who says “I’m not a runner”. At the end there is a gigantic “Color Festival” where everyone is rocking out and throwing color at a countdown. Super fun way to wrap up the event. Take your kids – you don’t have to pay to register the younger ones, and strollers are allowed – they’ll love it! Take lots of pictures! We LOVED it!
COUPON – – I have a Coupon for you today – awesome! First, find out if The Color Run is coming to you. We’re participating in the Kansas City one on June 1st (maybe I’ll see you there??), but they have races all over the country.
–The Coupon Code “COLOR5OFF” is valid in any city that is not sold out. However, most all of the races sell out, so sign up now. The promo code does NOT guarantee you a spot in the race so when you find the race closest to you that is still open, enter soon.
—When people register in a team of 4 or more it is automatically $5 cheaper, they can then also use their promo code on top of that and save $10.00. Details are online: How does a “Color Team” work compared with a solo runner? Pretty simple, you register as a (4 minimum/infinity max) unit rather than as an individual. You get to pick a groovy custom team name, anything from The Roy G Biv All-stars to We Sweat Rainbows. You then get to run/walk together and “help” each other get really colored up over the 5 color kilometers. There is no “relay” component and team members can finish together as a unit or separately.
(I was compensated for this post with a ticket to my Color Run race, but all opinions of how awesome and fun this race is are my own. It is recommended by me!)

I’m signed up for the colour run in Calgary, AB next month and I can’t wait!
I might be doing the color me rad run in Boise coming up in June. Looks like fun!
