ah, another week, another What I Wore Wednesday (hence WIWW) – – that means on Wednesday I review what I’ve worn, not that I’ve worn all of these things on a Wednesday – – um, Wednesday is a hard word to type…moving on…
At SNAP Lara predicted that the color of the year could be Kelly Green. I would be all over that – I love green!! And it showed in my clothes this week…
First up, this shirt from Forever 21 – – I bought it when I was in search of mint jeans – I didn’t find them there, but I did come out with this shirt – I don’t know why! I’ve worn it a couple of times, but I feel a little awkward in it – I just can’t grab the big flowy style right now. I think it needs a belt – in fact, it came with this one – but I’m not sure I’m belting it in the right place, etc. Thoughts?? I really suggestions for it….
Next up, I got this shirt at a garage sale and have shown it before, but since it was green I thought I’d show it again….it’s cute enough and has a ruffle down either side of the buttons…
And then, the grand finale, I was able to review a dress from Shabby Apple – – it was really cute! It is the Mariposa Grove found here. I love the color and overall fit. I thought it’d be perfect to wear to a friend’s wedding a couple of weeks – until I heard that the bridesmaids are wearing green dresses – I can’t be THAT person, you know, the Bridesmaid-Wanna-Be. So I’ll have to go with something else….
Anyways, the dress – I thought the fit was great. Some of the reviews said it was tight in the bust, but obviously not an issue in my case. The flowers on the top are raw-edge, but I feel like that is part of the charm. At first I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t fully lined, but when I wore it, the dress was breezy and had a nice hang, so maybe that worked because there’s no lining – and it’s not see through or anything. The color is perfect!
My one complaint is the sleeves, and I was warned in the description that the sleeves were more a cap than the product pictured, but I went with it anyway. So my bad – I wish it had more of a sleeve. You can see in this picture in the left that I had to wear a white shirt under the dress and it peeks out a little – and you can see in the picture on the right that when I move my arms up it peeks out a lot:
And of course my white shirt has a much higher neckline in the back than the dress, so I get this look:
I’m thinking I can pull in the bust area a little which will make the under-arm sleeve area not so gapey- – I’ll let you know how that goes…
Overall, super cute dress! If you are a cap-sleeve person, this will be a home-run for you!

In order, I’d say these outfits remind me of Peter Pan, My Mother, and Me in high school.(yes, fashion repeats itself after so long). These are not insults, just what came to mind. I absolutely love the color of the dress and you wear it beautifully! Always cute, Mandy♥

I have always loved green too…as a twin my mom always dressed one of us in red and one in blue. But I always wanted yellow or green.

I love the shabby apple dress, but it’s disappointing that it doesn’t cover more. We need more LDS designers to step up. I also love the garage sale shirt. I love that ruffle detail. Not loving the oversize shirt. It looks like maybe you could have gone with a smaller size maybe.

So I’m thinking the top looks to big for you. It should hang a little but it just looks too bulky or something. I like it… it’s just too big. The dress is lovely! I always think of you when I see green stuff! haha.
