I’m trying to get back in the groove it’s been a crazy couple of months, but I told myself yesterday that it’s time to get back to real life! Time to try to make the effort to wear something presentable at least a couple times a week….
And you’re probably excited that it’s garage sale season again, so I can buy people’s discarded clothes and convince myself they might still be fashionable – here we go….
You know it’s going to be a good outfit when my mom sees me and says “what in the world are you wearing?!?!” I got this sweater/dress/tunic shirt thing for $1 at a garage sale. It was comfy and I like it, so even if you think it’s awful I will probably keep it.
The shoes are a result of a personal shopper. Don’t your friends all know what you’re looking for – like I know to keep my eye out for certain things that certain people want from garage sales. I was “running” in a race Saturday so I missed all the garage sales but a friend knew I was on the lookout for yellow shoes and snagged them for me – score! My kind of shopping – they just appeared at my doorstep. Well worth the $2 – they’re about a half size too big, but who cares!
Next up, I know “color blocking” is all the rage, so I tried color blocking with accessories – turquoise hair clip, orange earrings, yellow shirt – I’m not sure I love it, but I gave it a go, so points for effort.
And lastly this week, the outfit I wore on my second TV segment. Last month I agonized over my outfit, planned it out perfectly, etc. This time I just threw something on – I just knew it needed to be a v-neck because the craft I was showing on air was to make glass tile pendants so I needed to wear mine. Anyways, the outfit was alright, but nothing wow. The cardigan has white sequins on it so it’s a little more “fun” and a little less frumpy in real life…and I wore the shoes no one but me likes, but you couldn’t see them so it didn’t matter….
So, let’s hear it – – thoughts on any of the outfits?? Different ways I should try to accessorize?? I’m all about implementing your suggestions!!
I totally love your sweat dress. Although this holds now ground because I’m not super fashionable here, but I’ve always wanted to wear those and they just don’t work for me : ( You are adorable though!! You always wear the cutest stuff! : )
I’m pretty excited about garage sale season! 🙂
loving the pops of yellow in the first outfit!
I love the dress, and the TV outfit. You’re so cute! The yellow shoes rock!
I am wearing my black leggings today TOO…with a tshirt dress! So comfy…I would Snag those yellow shoes in a HEARTBEAT!
I love those yellow flats! Gray, black and yellow is awesome together. And I love the sandals in your second outfit too – great shoes, lady!
Honestly, you make everything you wear look cute! The black stripe, accessorized with deep yellow makes you look like a sort of cute little bumble bee. (That is NOT an insult. I like bumble bees. 🙂
Love your WIWW posts!♥
WOW that sweater dress was a great find! And I love the yellow flats with it 🙂
I like the first dress~
Adorable stripey dress, just my style too C:
Love this outfit! The pops of yellow are perfect!
Creamy
Love the yellow shoes! If they feel slightly too big just pop some insoles into them -t hey help take up some of the room and create a better fit. Plus they add comfort – win!
I really like the pops of yellow! You can kind of tell in that picture that the shoes are too big though. I like the tv outfit! That’s really something I would wear!
What the “sweater dress” didn’t have was the ‘tie’ that was in it when I saw it. It’s not a dress but a blouson top.
Visiting from the Pleated Poppy link…love the yellow shoes! I’ve been known to buy a few things not exactly the right size myself! 🙂
Love those yellow flats!
