Our old babysitter (from before we moved) texted me the other day wanting help spicing up her school-issued Macbook – you know I can’t pass up a plea for crafting help! And man oh man, they did a great job! I think the Captain American shield might be my favorite, with the apple logo shining out from the middle. So cool!
The great thing about using vinyl is that it’s totally customizable – you can use a cutting machine and cut whatever you want – AND it’s perfect because it will peel right off, so no damage to the macbook. It’s a win win. The vinyl above is glitter (it’s hard to tell in the pic) and super super cool. I had tons of vinyl on hand – I always stock up to hit free shipping, and that way I have lots on hand to choose from when last-minute crafting needs to happen 😉 (I’ve mentioned it before, but I buy all my vinyl from Expressions Vinyl – TONS of options, and it ships lightning fast – and it’s the best price I’ve found – affiliate link, but I love love love them)
I really love this camera decal too – – it makes picking a favorite super hard! To make the decals, the girls just found images they liked and then we used the “trace” function in the Silhouette software to trace them out. Then they would pick which color vinyl they wanted for the design and there ya go.
I was especially excited when this quote below traced out correctly – I wasn’t sure if the whole opposite side negative space thing would work, but it did, phew!
So if you have something that needs a little pizzazz, add a decal! They’re so fun!

Hi, so did you have indoor or outdoor vinyl on this project?
Mandy Beyeler says
It was all mixed together in a vinyl pile mess when they picked their colors, but I’m pretty sure it’s indoor – I hardly ever buy outdoor, unless I know I’m using it outdoors (mailbox, sidelights, etc), so I’m guessing it’s indoor 😉
