Have you heard of Tuft & Needle?! Their mattresses are all the rage right now, and I recently tested one out! And so today I’m going to tell you all about it – really! Tuft & Needle sent me the mattress for a review, and they love getting honest reviews out there, whether I liked it or not. I love their openness about reviews of their product.
And check it out – – I made a GIF!!! I was pretty proud of myself 😉
But more than a GIF, you probably want to see how that crazy mattress-in-a-box works – well, I’ve got that for ya too. Here we are in a grand Unboxing Video:
Did you see that?? How it just pops up into a solid mattress – it was amazing to watch! Watching that alone is enough to hook me on the mattress, but let’s get into the real details:
Tuft & Needle, honest mattress review
—It comes TO. YOUR. HOUSE. And not only that, but in a nice compact box. Seriously, THAT is reason enough to get it. No hopping from store to store trying to find a mattress deal, and then figuring out how you’re going to get it home. Nobody’s got time for that! I’m a pretty heavy online shopper (as in I also have dog food delivered) so if a mattress can be delivered, I’m all over that.
—It’s a deal – I was shopping for a mattress I thought I wanted, and it was around $3000, what?! So that didn’t happen. The Tuft & Needle King is $750. A great deal for a king mattress. And yes, that includes shipping.
—Reviews: Tuft & Needle is the #1 rated product in the bedroom furniture category on Amazon. That’s saying something.
—Returns: you get 100 days to try it out. That’s amazing. And then if you don’t like it, it’s no big deal at all – returns are hassle free. And you don’t send it back to them – you get to donate it to a local charity, isn’t that awesome? To return your mattress, we work together to donate it to a local charity or non-profit. It’s that easy. Once your mattress is donated, send us a scanned or photographed copy of your donation receipt via email and we’ll process your refund in full.
—What’s it like?? I was envisioning more of a memory foam, that you sink into, and I was a little leary. But it’s nothing like that at all. It’s not memory foam or latex. It’s T&N Adaptive™ Foam. And so it’s just as firm and solid as a regular mattress.
—How does it sleep?? This is what everyone wonders. And I waited to tell you until I had slept on it a couple of months. Because after the first night, I woke up feeling like I had been run over by a truck. I didn’t like the mattress the first few days. I had our old mattress propped against the wall so I could switch back after giving the Tuft & Needle a fair chance. But our old mattress was starting to get soft in the middle, and I think I was sore on the new mattress because my muscles had been overcompensating on the old mattress. So after a week, I declared that I didn’t like our new mattress, but that I didn’t hate it. But then it started to grow on me. After a couple weeks, I was ready to let go of the old mattress, knowing I would never go back. The Tuft & Needle is a little firmer than I’m used to, but I think it’s more supportive that way, so that’s a good thing. Since I like a softer top, we might get a small soft topper for it, to get that soft feel while also having great support that won’t sag. But we haven’t done that yet, and I still like the mattress.
I’ve been sleeping on it for a little over 2 months and have recommended it to a couple of friends already.
