it’s summer, no denying it now! And I’ve realized I need a new swimsuit coverup – I actually love mine, but it’s a mesh version, so I when I have to run errands before or after heading to the pool, it’s a little awkward. So I envisioned making a simple and cozy coverup that would provide just a bit more coverage, like a cross between a sundress and a coverup.
Well, I had the project in my mind. And then I was blog-reading, and bam, there it was – – just want I had envisioned, perfect! So instead of reinventing the wheel, I used the tutorial over at Sew Caroline:
I love the print knit fabric she used, and have that in mind for future plans. But for this one I just whipped up a coverup with what I had on hand, so just this solid deep orange. I crossed the bodice just a little more than hers so it wouldn’t be too far-down on the shoulder.
I wasn’t paying too much attention to the instructions, so I ended up having to do the waist just a little differently, but it worked. I like how the pattern is fitted, but still loose. It’s a good one!

I love your swimsuit coverup; i especially like how it could pass as just a regular dress. I, too, have a DIY tutorial on a dress that could be worn as a swimsuit cover up. Please feel free to check it out at http://www.lovemeyeart.com
