I just had to show off the cute Snowglobe Cake I made for our big family Christmas Eve celebration – – it’s more of a “winter theme” so I thought it’s still okay to post about it in January…
So cute, right?!? you know, I have a thing for snowglobes – like I have over 100. Trevor gets me one every year – this year’s was super cute – when it’s wound up, the Santa dances and the musicbox plays “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
Anyways, when I saw this cake from Taste of Home I knew it was meant for me to make:
But I went the easy route – I just used a cake mix (it was even funfetti – it’s all I had!). The small fish bowl I used was so small that when I cut the cake to the right size to look like a snowglobe base, the cake was pretty small. So then I took all the leftover cake pieces I had to cut off and turned it into cakeballs. For the figurine inside, I just grabbed a snowman salt shaker I happen to have sitting around. So cute – cuter in person than in the picture (it’s hard to take a picture of a fish bowl – who knew! lots of reflection…)
