Have you heard of Skirting the Issue?? It’s an amazing initiative from over at Simple Simon and Co – – basically they spend the entire month sewing, along with readers, to make skirts to donate for girls in foster care (who will receive them just in time for back to school). Perfect, right?! I know you’ll want to participate! You can find the details here: Skirting the Issue
So since you’ll be sewing skirt, you’ll need some tutorials – – I LOVE sewing skirts – they come together quickly, and you can have so much fun with them. I gathered up a few of the posts of tutorials I’ve done for skirts, all here in one easy place for you. Then you can browse and click through to find what you need.
Here we go:
Cotton Candy Skirt (SO easy!! using a repurposed throw blanket)
Reverse Applique Pillowcase Skirt (yes, this is made from a pillowcase – easy peasy!)
5 Minute Ruffle Skirt (again, easy easy – I see a theme! ) – I’ve made these more than once…
Apron Dress-up Skirt (easy on and off)
Checkers Skirt ( a little more work, but I just love this one!)
Circle Skirt (everyone has to try this sometime!)
Bandana Layered Skirt (fun for little ones)
tshirt to skirt (a great refashion)
Ruched Strip Skirt (precut strips makes this easy)
Knit Skirts (a perfect project to try knit fabric)
Snowball skirts (with hidden elastic waistband)
Pink Fluff Skirt (great practice for ruffling)
Dress to Skirt (a hand-me up)
Sheets to Skirt (LOVE using sheets as fabric)
