THIS IS A SPONSORED POST IN COLLABORATION WITH WAVERLY INSPIRATIONS AS PART OF THEIR BLOGGER TEAM
It’s time for another showcase of fabric for the Waverly Inspirations challenges – I love showing them to you! This round was grays and sparkle, perfect for New Year’s decor. And since it’s a busy season, I kept this decor project super simple, no sew, so you can whip it up in no time! Fun tutorial for the Simple New Year’s Banner Decor – –
You’ll love how this is so simple to put together, almost as much as you’ll love that cute Waverly Inspirations fabric line found at Walmart.
Simple New Year’s Banner Decor
Let’s jump right in – you’ll need:
–fabric (I used this fun line from Waverly Inspirations)
–paint (I used Waverly in Silver)
–ribbon (also Waverly)
–wooden craft numbers
–hot glue and scissors
First you’ll want to paint the numbers, and set aside to dry.
Meanwhile, make the pennants for the banner. Cut triangles out of fabric. Since this is seasonal decor, I didn’t sew or finish the edges.
Lay out the pennants. Put a line of hot glue along the top and press the ribbon on top of it. Repeat to attach all pennants. So the ribbon is on top of the pennants.
When the numbers are dry, attach them to a separate ribbon, with hot glue on the back of the numbers and press onto the top of the ribbon. So with this set, the ribbon is behind the numbers.
When displaying, layer the two strands one above the other. The numbers strand will pull out flatter while the pennants will have more dip in the hang.
That’s all there is to it! Let the festivities begin!!!
