Yep, it’s almost back-to-school time, which seems so crazy! But we’re in full prep mode and I wanted to share a fun idea with you for notebooks – because we can’t just leave them plain 😉 We came up with a fun Notebook Photo Collage. I love being a part of the Elmer’s Craft-It Crew, and for sure Elmer’s goes hand-in-hand with back to school.
Also hand-in-hand with back-to-school: Mead and Trapper Keeper – you know how awesome they are! I especially love the new spirals (in the pic above) because they have that flap that clips in to the 3 ring binder – it’s genius!
But anyways, on to the project – cause this is too fun! I love personalizing everything, and school supplies are no exception. Now her notebook boasts of all the fun times we had on summer vacation – love it!
You’ll need:
–a circle punch
–pics (I just printed them from my computer)
–scrapbook paper scraps
–Elmer’s Glue Stick
–notebook or folder (or whatever you’d like to collage)
First up we set to gathering the pictures we wanted to use. And which scraps of scrapbook paper we wanted to showcase. We were going to do squares at first, but cutting was taking awhile…
So then I thought the circle punch was a great solution. Be sure to look at it from the bottom, that way you can line up the image exactly where you’d like it to punch.
Once all your circles are punched, you’re ready to jump in to assembly:
Sort out your circles into the layout you’d like. Then generously coat the back with Elmer’s Glue stick, covering it completely (which was hard to take a pic of , since the purple is “disappearing” – but just know that I coated it all over!)
Then just work your way down, adhering all the circles. They stuck surprising well. It hasn’t been through school yet, so I can’t report on how it holds up, but I think it’s going to do great. If you’re worried about it, you could always add a layer of diy mod podge over everything.
That’s all there is to it – – now your school supplies have that personal touch!
I think projects like this get everyone excited for back-to-school, so be sure to involve the kiddos!
